Posted 12/10/09--- Well, winter is finally here. It is soooo cold and windy here in Michigan
right now. :( I had to move all the rabbits into the barn because it's supposed to be a high of 18 degrees today! (and
9 degrees tonight!) None of my breedings took from the last round so everyone was rebred last night and will be bred
throughout the next couple of days. Hopefully even with the cold weather they'll be willing. If these breedings don't take
I won't have much for nationals, if anything at all. I have 10 elops and 3 hares bred now so maybe I'll get at least a couple
litters! :) MSU was fun! Hannah took her rabbit, a lilac Eng spot sr doe and took BOS in show A and BOB in show B! She
was very excited! :) I did well. In show A I took BOB with Biru. In show B I took the solid int doe class with Lovechild.
Biru is now granded pending his registration. This was the last show of the year so I'll see you all next spring!
:)
Posted 12/03/09--- Well, the most recent breedings where a flop! GRR! None of the does I bred
took, not even my hares which almost always take. I do have 1 elop and 2 hares due in the next few days so hopefully someone
took. I might try to palpate tonight but I don't trust myself to do it accurately! :) I will be rebreeding everyone
this week/weekend and crossing my fingers that they take this time as Nationals for both breeds is coming quickly. I will
not be attending PASARBA in Feb. as I had planned but will hopefully be able to send some rabbits down to show. Mooray
is going to go visit Donna @ Shaye's Rabbitry in another attempt to get babies out of her. After getting another litter
out of them I will be parting with some of my Sr stock. I do not know who, but there will be bucks and does as I will be keeping
my numbers down next year. Winter is threatening to start showing its ugly face here in Michigan so I will see you all in
the spring! Have a wonderful holiday season! :)
Posted 11/07/09--- Hello! It's supposed to be a bright and sunny day here in Michigan so I'm
hoping to do some rebreedings and breedings as I clean the barn. I still am not the best at palpating but from what I can
tell Hilda, Dimes, and Bravo took from the last set of breedings I did. I think Mahi may be preggers but I can't tell for
sure on her and a couple of the others. I really need to get these guys going because these are my National babies for both
breeds! :) I've got a handful of older Elop does that are on the chopping block and if there isn't a litter produced
before the show at MSU on Dec 5th they'll be going to the meat man. Feed is too expensive to waste on does that
aren't producing! I'm hoping to put up new pictures of the hares today but we'll see if that happens. It takes twice
as long to get a good hare picture then it does an Elop! So anyways, not a whole lot of news but breedings are happening and
litters are on thier way!!! :)
